I’m supposed to make the stuffing for an early Thanksgiving dinner, and my recipe has sausage in it. I just realized that a couple of the people who will be there are Jewish … um, uh-oh. Does anyone know any good modifications, so I can maybe make them a small pan of still-tasty-but-not-pork-y stuffing?

Just don’t use pork.
Or blood.
Or crow.
Or shellfish.
Or vulture, owl or anything else listed in Leviticus.

Do you know them? If you are cooking for them, they obviously don’t keep Kosher. You could ask if they eat sausage. Otherwise, just make a nice vegetarian stuffing for the turkey. Many people (Jewish or not) don’t like sausage stuffing with turkey.

if they’re jewish and eat kosher, you’re not allowed to mix meats i think. so no meat in the stuffing.
