I recently bought a powerful meat grinder and have a vacuum sealer and chest freezer. I’m familiar with grinding things like chuck for burgers, or bottom round for general purpose ground beef. I have a few questions pretaining to which cuts of meat to get for other purposes…
1. What is a good price for chuck? On sale in jersey supermarkets it seems to be around 2.39 a pound.
2. How much can "bulk buys" save me. I’m unfamiliar with buthcher shops or wholesale meat stores. What are some options on large quantities of beef? A friend told me to get a "side of beef"…sounded like a big project but sounded very economical…
any help is much appreciated.
Yeah I grabbed 3 large chucks, sealed 2 for roasts and ground one for burgers. Should have gotten more.

i have a good sized butternut squash and some baby bella mushrooms. I also have alot of other things like chicken, ground meat and a basic pantry. Basically what I am looking for is SOMETHING that includes the squash and mushrooms in the same recipe.
Thank you!!

My mother in law gave me a bag of frozen pork patties. Not sausage patties, just pork.
What kind of meal can I make with these?

When I google what kind of meat to make jerky I get the same answers: Lean, ground meat. I don’t want ground meat (it looks like flat, processed meat when it’s finished) I want to make real beef jerky. So when I go to the store what kind/cut of beef should I pick up????
